OSPOLY Iree Donates 5000 Hand Sanitizer to Osun Government (Photo)

Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has commended the creativity of the management of Osun State Polytechnic Iree under the leadership of Dr. Woye Olaniran for the production of over 5000 Pieces to curb the menace of COVID 19 in the State.

Speaking through the Special Adviser to Governor on Education , Mr. Jamiu Olawumi, the governor said, “it is a scored creativity that has made the institution to stand out among its peers in the state.”

According to him, “the production of the hand sanitiser in the institution’s faculty of science is laudable and remarkable which the Government appreciates in high spirit.”

He assured the management that the state government would collaborate with the polytechnic through the ministry of Education in patent registration of the product in order to commercialise the product and serve as a source of income for the institution.

While responding, the Rector of the institution, Dr. Woye Olaniran who was flanked by the Registrar, Mr Busari Salawu, said it was considered necessary at this crucial time to use the facilities, materials and personnel in the polytechnic to produce the sanitizer in order to join hands with the state government in its effort curtail the spread of dreadful virus in the state.

He disclosed that the product will be circulated round the state for use.

While explaining the content of the hand sanitiser, the Dean, Faculty of Science , Dr Rafiu Adeleke said, Ethil Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, sterile water, fragrance and other chemicals were the composition of the product.

On the entourage of the Rector, were the media team of the institution, Messrs Bayo Fadeji, Tope Abiola, and the Portal manager, Mr Dotun Omisore.
