Emily Blunt – Oppenheimer
Great to see that Blunt is on the list as her acting alongside Cillian Murphy certainly complimented his performance in this film, and that is exactly what a supporting role should do!
Danielle Brooks – The Color Purple
This performance of being an utter scene stealer in a musical is up there with Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls and she walked away with the Oscars. Brooks did this role on Broadway and was utterly brilliant in The Color Purple.
America Ferrera – Barbie
Doesn’t she just get the greatest speech! I mean that is certainly the moment that got this Oscar nomination as it was delivered in the best possible way. While also reminding everyone of childhood when they enjoyed certain toys as well as an added bonus.
Jodie Foster – Nyad
This is certainly one of those performances that is probably one of the least seen, as Nyad quietly appeared on Netflix and hasn’t had much buzz. I thought Foster was terrific in a film that shows the impact of a sporting challenge.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph – The Holdovers
She’s rightly been sweeping the awards circuit with her incredible performance and will certainly add the Oscar to that ever growing collection for this film.
