Annette Bening – Nyad
As with Jodie Foster being nominated for this film I am just as happy about Bening getting a nomination as Nyad is an incredible story and the physical transformation that was put in for her performance is amazing!
Lily Gladstone – Killers of the Flower Moon
An academy first with Gladstone being the first ever native Amereican to be nominated for Best Actress and she has had her fair share of wins throughout awards season and is well in the running to win this Oscar. Her performance is worthy and extremely impressive.
Sandra Hüller – Anatomy of a Fall
This is such an intense performance and see’s Hüller speak in three different languages at different stages of the film. Not only that though her performance is brilliant within the court scenes raising that doubt over if she was guilty or not.
Carey Mulligan – Maestro
Probably some slight bias from me with regards Mulligan’s performance in this film, considering she is one of my favourite actresses as I truly feel as though she is the best thing about it. This is her third nomination and I’m afraid she will have to get a fourth to be in with a real chance of winning.
Emma Stone – Poor Things
This is a downright crazy performance where Stone has deserved each and every plaudit that has come her way. She was willing to do pretty much anything and everything on screen to create this character. Again she his picked up a share of the awards with Gladstone and looks to go head to head for her second Oscar win in what is her fourth nomination (two were for supporting actress).
