By Rohit Dassani

Happen to try Zaza Box as part of an event. Zaza Box is known for its complete cholesterol free menu and uses only Organic products for any dish. Healthy low calorie nutritious eating is really picking up in India and the market is just huge. Hats off to Zaza Box for taking on this market so boldly. The menu keeps changing everyday and can be accessed from here. As of now they only serve breakfast and lunch. Zaza Box has different meals as per your preferences like the Lean Box, Yogi Box, Traveler’s Box and the Power Snack Box.

We tried the Pink of Health and Lemon Cooler Shikanji. The Pink of Health had cold pressed organic Beetroot, Pomegranate and Ginger while the Lemon Cooler Shikanji had Jaggery, Lemon, brown sugar. Cold pressed juiced insures that nutrients are not destroyed by any chemical reaction. The Shikanji was really good not too sweet just perfect.

First came the Power Snack Box comprising of different components. The Veggie Sausages had soy nuggets with mushrooms and tofu. Not a big fan of soy, really didn’t like it. The Baked Samosas with Whole wheat dough along with organic vegetables was air fried instead of frying it in loaded of oil. The flavor of Samosa was still intact. The Tandoori Tofu Skewers had Tofu without preservatives along with organic bell pepper, onions and chili. This dish was so-so and the Yogurt Marinade didn’t work for me. Loved their Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls. The dish was made from Rice Paper Wrap mixed with organic fruits and vegetables.

For our main course we had the Yogi Box comprising of Dal Makhani Lite, having every strong taste of cardamom. The Dal Makhani didn’t have any butter or ghee. The Kofta were tangy as well as sweet because of the tomato gravy. The High fiber Brown Rice went well with the curries. The Yogi Box also comes with the Vegetable Organic Whole wheat Rotis stuffed with spinach. The entire dishes was made with minimalistic oil.

The Traveler’s Box came next. The Mushroom and Spinach Pot Pie was made out of Whole wheat pastry with spinach and mushrooms inside. The dish was a bit salty for me but the base was perfectly baked. Whereas the Beetroot Burger was delicious. The Organic beetroot patty along with mint mayo made from tofu and nuts on whole wheat bun was one of its kind. A must try!

All credits to Zaza Box for creating low calorie desserts as well. The Healthy Mango Cheesecake was amazing in taste. Made with a biscuit base, the cheesecake was made from cashews, tofu and coconut milk and topped with mango compote along with brown sugar and dates. Finished the dish in no time! The All day Breakfast Parfait made out of Yoghurt with jaggery with chunks of fresh fruits like pomegranate and mango along with dry fruits. A bit heavy but comes with all the goodness of probiotic yoghurt. The Ragi Gluten Free Brownie is another best seller and the fibrous gluten free brownie will keep you wanting for more.

Zaza Box was a mixed bag with some really innovative products while others need a bit of a tweak! But overall a salute to the entire team for atleast trying and motivating people to eat organic and healthy.
