Oprah Producing #MeToo Doc Ft. Russell Simmons Sexual Assault Accuser

Apple TV has announced that an Oprah Winfrey produced documentary centered around a former music executive #MeToo journey will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next year.

The log line for the film states the the film follows "a brilliant former music executive who grapples with whether to go public with her story of assault and abuse by a notable figure in the music industry. The film is a profound examination of race, gender, class and intersectionality, and the toll assaults take on their victims and society at large."

According to reports, the film is centered around Drew Dixon, the woman who accused Russell Simmons of sexual assault. Simmons, who co-founded Def Jam served as Dixon's direct supervisor while she served as an executive at the label. She quit Def Jam shortly after Simmons allegedly raped her in his apartment in 1995.

The film is being directed by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering.
