By Rohit Dassani

We went to Open Tap for the sole purpose of trying its food, for a business lunch. The place is located in Sohna Road on Vatika Business Park. Its been a couple of month since the place opened and every since I have been trying to try it. The place is known for its fresh beer’s and good food.

The place has an amazing bar and wooden work can be seen everywhere. We sat in cozy sofas at one end, they also have high rise chairs. The walls are adorned with beautiful paintings. Being a pub, Open Tap plays really good music and you would groove while enjoying the atmosphere. Plenty of natural light comes in from the large glass windows.

We had the Mango Mint Rapture, the drink was made from Mango pulp and blended with Mint, the drink was refreshing and outstanding in taste. We went straight to the menu and ordered the Mixed Tandoori Kebab Platter, Tandoori Mushrooms, Dahi ke Kebab, Humus with Pita Bread for appetizers. The Mixed Kebab Platter had Panner Tikka, Seekh Kebab, Malai Broccoli, Tandoori Malai Cauliflower and comes with onions and fresh green chutney. The items on the platter were superb in terms of taste. The Tandoori Mushrooms were hot in taste but the soothing green chutney gave a perfect balance. The Humus with Pita Breads was also good. The Dahi ke Kebab were brilliant in taste.

Open Tap didn’t have any burgers on that day and we were disappointed. Next we had the Vegetable Biryani. The Biryani was different than other places and it had a bread layer on top. The Biryani came with Raita and a rich gravy. The biryani was outstanding. The combination with the Raita was great but the biryani was a bit oily.

Next we moved to Desserts and we ordered the Walnut Brownie with Ice-cream. We were so impressed with the taste of this dessert that we continued to order a few more. Probably the best brownie I had in a while. The ice-cream was creamy and rich as well.
