The Fifth-Gneration Networks 5G one of the leading technology trends for the current year, and the coming years, as many describe as the technology that will change the world, through the great impact on the global economy. After years of preparation, fifth-generation 5G networks have begun to emerge in cities in different countries. The fifth generation 5G networks are the biggest development in mobile devices after nearly a decade of 4G LTE.

It is expected that, according to the International Telecommunication Union ( GSMA ), fifth-generation networks will support download speeds of up to 10 GB. The response time or data transmission time may be only 1 millisecond, but so far all cities have not been able to take advantage of this technology. Because the availability of fifth generation networks depends on a variety of factors including: government regulation, technological improvements by network operators, in addition to the role played by the evolution of mobile devices.

However, there are a number of fifth-generation networks operating in some areas now. Ookla, the owner of Speedtest, has launched an interactive map called Ookla’s 5G map, indicating that there are 303 5G networks currently deployed in 294 cities Around the world, operated and managed by 20 telecommunications companies.

The Ookla map shows the number of 5G VLANs in each country, the name of the service provider, and the type of service available on each network. This map will be updated weekly with the available information on launch as soon as it occurs. The updates will also be posted on a dedicated Twitter account. You can zoom in on parts of the map, and click on city-based circles; for more detailed information, including: city name, list of operators who introduced fifth generation networks, and network status in the region.

The status of the networks shown on the map is divided into two types of availability: limited availability networks and commercial networks. Limited availability indicates that the network exists but is limited to a certain number of users, meaning that the network is being tested before being made available to the wider public.

Commercial availability, however, indicates availability of the 5th generation network for actual use, where any consumer can purchase a device that supports the network and start using it immediately.

Availability of 5th generation 5G networks globally:

Switzerland is the world leader in fifth-generation networks for the time being. The fifth-generation networks are available for commercial use in 225 locations and are offered by two operators: Swisscom and Sunrise.

While in the United States, 5G networks are available in only 21 locations, and AT & T operates 19 of them, with limited availability. The commercially available 5G networks in the United States are owned by Verizon and are located in only two cities: Chicago and Minneapolis.

In South Korea, 5G networks are already available in 18 locations, but are limited to 16 locations, commercially available in only two locations, and Australia has 12 locations, all of which are limited in use.

5G networks are available in 7 locations in China, all of which are available for commercial use. Also on the map are available in a small number of other countries such as: Spain, Italy, Poland, Finland, UAE and Qatar, but most are limited.

Table showing the leading countries in terms of availability of 5G Networks:
