OnePlus Could Release ‘OnePlus Nord Lite’ Under Rs 18,000 In September

The recently launched OnePlus Nord at Rs 24,999 was the perfect homecoming for the brand. The company that rose to fame by introducing budget smartphones with features that could compete with premium flagships is set to shake up the budget smartphone market again.

According to a new leak, OnePlus is working on another budget smartphone as part of its Nord series, and this time it could be offered for as low as Rs 18,000.

A Twitter user with the handle "Boby25846908" tweeted that OnePlus is supposed to release a budget smartphone with Snapdragon 662/665 in the price range of Rs 16,000-18,000.

OnePlus is expected to release a few smartphones from its North series this year. Another leak from a leading leaker, "The Tech Guy," suggested that OnePlus work on a low-budget smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC. He shared a screenshot of OnePlus proprietary source code for back up his assertions.

Additionally, OnePlus recently got an 18W charger approved by the TUV Rheinland certification platform, which we might see shipped with budget OnePlus smartphones in the future.

While OnePlus achieves excellent results in terms of sales because it is out of stock within seconds of being sold, the smartphone is also receiving strong criticism from users for the green tint effect on its screen. The company has also meddled in its anti-bloatware policy by adding "uninstallable" apps like Facebook and Netflix to OxygenOS in OnePlus North.
