The loss was devastating. She couldn’t believe she lost him. She had looked forward for a long journey through life with him. And, out of the blue, he just left. His death was a vacuum she was sure would never fill up. She could move on and meet others but he would always remain The One.
When she said as much to her friend, her friend laughed. “Aren’t you making a big deal out of nothing? That was just a literary character. Get over it and move on. You can’t live inside a book all your life.”
