Hasn't it been a crazy month already or is that just me?! Well I haven't stopped and apparently life decided to catch up with me and give me chicken pox last week... yes and at 29 years of age it wasn't fun! Fortunately I'm now nearly better with just the spots. I know it's a delightful image! My health aside... but now that I am better I've started thinking about nights out in January. Going on a night out when the weather is chilly isn't the most appealing, I often would rather trade me heels for my slippers and my party frock for a onesie! Agreed?! I'm sure many will. I had started this year with a bundle of new years resolution but one of them in particular is to be more social and go out more, so for this post I've created the perfect look for a January night out.I'm a big fan of rich purple tones at the moment, so much so I'm currently revamping an old desk to a snazzy purple colour, (I'll be blogging about that soon so watch this space) but as you can see throwing some dashes with the black really make this look feel warmer and chic.

What do you think of this look? Well this is my favorite dress of the moment and you're all super lucky as it's actually just gone into the sale! It's the French Connection Dolly Mesh Jersey Dress, but has a cheeky detailed chest with chiffon and ruffles. As you can see I've added a black furry bolero to keep warm, which has been a fantastic investment when I bought it for the British Fashion Awards. I'm going to be honest I've used quite a lot of my old faithful pieces for example my clutch is from Accessorize from three seasons ago, however when I did my end of season clearout it didn't get the chop. Of course my Anna Lou of London necklace is with me everywhere! It's my favorite piece of jewelry and goes with pretty much everything, but for this look because there is a lot going on with the dress at the top a heavy necklace would of looked too much, which is why the 'A' necklace is back. You may have noticed my simple half and half hair do, this was so easy to create by washing, blow drying, straightening then losely pinning my hair back. Trick for volume in the hair is using my favorite product (ever) label.m volume mouse... honestly I swear by it! Add it to your shopping list! Just lightly spray on the roots (I only use a bit on the top) then blow dry and va-va-voom... you have big hair! My January style ensemble for a night out is great for all kinds of ocassions, but I really think that adding a warm color such as purple really makes this look stand out. What have you been wearing on nights out or have you hibernated this January?!xoxo
