The next release on Devil Town Tapes is ‘wyd’ by Bournemouth-based solo artist ‘omes’ (Omar De Col to friends and family). Described by the label as a ‘short and sweet ode to an internet friendship’, the 90 seconds has a distinctly lo-fi sound that just adds to its charm.
With its hushed and introspective lyrics (many are based around phrases and poems written down in notebooks) and gently layered guitars that are reminiscent of TTNG’s quieter moments or Owen, this is a subtly powerful song about the importance of companionship.
