Story: Old People starts when Ella (Foroutan) takes her children Lara and Noah to her sister Sanna’s (Kazis) wedding. The wedding is taking place at an old family home, that has many older residents. This has seen the nursing home overrun, with a shortage of staff.

On the night of the wedding, the world changes. The elderly rise up against the younger generations, as they go on a blood-soaked rampage through the village.

Verdict on Old People

Old People is a horror thriller that spins the threat of the undead, to the nearly dead with the elderly. It takes us down a path where a different motivation for violence to start. Showing the bigger picture of what has been happening to make the sudden descent become a nightmare.

This is like many fighting against the undead stories that we have seen, despite it not being against the undead. It uses that creation to show the relentless pace as the night unfolds, giving us an enjoyable edge-of-the-seat thriller. The film is brave enough to not let us guess who could make it out alive either.

Where to Watch: Old People is available on Netflix now.

Final Thoughts Old People is a relentless spin on the undead concept.
