Ola Electric has released the statistics of electric scooters sold. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of the company, said that their battery-powered two-wheelers have covered 100 crore kilometers so far. All scooters sold in 18 months have collectively touched this milestone. As a result, Bhavish claimed that 2 crore liters of petrol have been saved in the country. In addition to preventing environmental pollution, fuel consumption has been saved.

So far, 2 lakh 50 thousand buyers have found Ola electric scooters in their garages. Bhavish Aggarwal wrote on Twitter, “And our journey is accelerating at a rapid pace!” The company launched its first electric scooter in August 2021. The first deliveries began in December that year.

Ola initially launched two versions of the electric scooter – S1 and S1 Pro. Last year they introduced the cheapest model. Which is – S1 Air. It has already started accepting bookings. Ola said that the delivery of S1 Air will start from July. It is available in a total of three variants depending on the battery pack – 2, 3 and 4 kWh.

Incidentally, Ola recently announced the construction of its battery cell gigafactory in India. It is being built in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. According to Ola, it will debut as the largest EV battery cell manufacturing unit in India. Its annual production capacity will be 10 gigawatt hours.
