Ola Electric is Bringing a Big Surprise on Paola Baisakh with the Announcement of the Cheapest Scooter

India’s largest EV two-wheeler maker Ola Electric is coming with a bunch of surprises on the Bengali New Year ie 15th April. The company’s CEO Bhavish Agarwal himself informed about this through a social media post. However, he has kept it a mystery as to what exactly will be announced. However, as some reports claim, that day Ola may announce the delivery timings of its cheapest electric scooter, the S1 X range. Some sources say that Ola may announce the new price of Ola S1 X range.

Note that the Ola S1 X can be purchased in three battery pack options – 2 kWh, 3 kWh and 4 kWh. Prices are Rs 79,999, Rs 89,999 and Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The updated model will reportedly come with a physical key. So it will be more convenient to lock/unlock the scooter in the conventional way.

Ola S1 X’s 2 kWh battery pack is claimed to give a range of 91 km on a full charge. It takes 7.4 hours to fully charge. It takes 4.1 seconds to accelerate from 0-40 km/h. The electric motor present in it is capable of generating maximum power of 6 kW. There are three riding modes – Eco, Normal and Sports. The maximum speed of the scooter is 85 km per hour. The touchscreen instrument cluster has been replaced by a 3.5-inch LCD screen.

The 3kW and 2kWh models offer the same charging time, riding mode and features. The difference is acceleration time, top speed and range. It takes 3.3 seconds to accelerate from 0-40 km/h. The top speed is 90 km per hour and the range is 151 km. The 4 kWh battery version of the S1 X also has them. The difference is that the range is 190 km.

Incidentally, Ola Electric has launched a battery warranty of 8 years or 80,000 km on its S1 Air and S1 Pro. Again the company is offering an extended warranty of up to 1 lakh kilometers for Rs 5,000. And if you pay 12,500 rupees, you will get the opportunity to extend the warranty up to 1.25 lakh kilometers.
