Effective, Quiet Dehumidifier That Falls Short On Some Features
It's rare that I review a product that leaves me quite as torn as the Okaysou Aqua Q6 Humidifier has. This product comes with a lot of promises. And it delivers... on some of them.
As far as humidifying goes, it's pretty effective. It produces a fine mist that can be set to three different output levels and does so very quietly, even on the highest setting. And, if love using essential oils like lavender for sleep, you don't have to pop up a separate diffuser and crowd the nightstand - the Aqua Q6 has its own aroma oil tray! Plus, a few functional features such as lights-off operating mode, remote control, and an easy-to-clean tank make it a really nice product.
But there are also plenty of features that fall short of expectations. The warming mist function that's supposed to be the main selling point hardly works at all. The auto mode setting is rendered ineffective by the inaccurate internal hygrometer. And the easy-clean tank can be challenging to fill without making a mess.
In the end, whether this will be a good buy for you depends entirely on what features you need to have and which you don't care about.

We've reviewed many Okaysou products through the years. Their Cayman 608 Air Purifier remains one of my favorite personal purifiers of all time. And their AirMax 10L Pro is one of the better large-room purifiers out there.
In addition to purifiers and humidifiers, this company also has a new air fryer that we can't wait to try.
Okaysou, an e-commerce company started in 2018, has a reputation for putting out quality home products at affordable price points. Their Q6 Humidifier is marketed as meeting these same expectations.
This product has a large 6-liter tank and is rated for use in rooms up to 450 square feet. In addition to multiple mist levels, a timer mode, auto-function, and warm mist function, this humidifier utilizes a unique top-fill water tank.
Unlike inversion tank humidifiers with no access point for cleaning the tank, the Q6 tank features a fully removable top so you can scrub away hard water deposits and remove slime buildup.
This unique selling point made me very excited about this product. Unfortunately, there are some features that did not entirely deliver.
Keep reading to find out where this humidifier excels and fell short in our full Okaysou Aqua Q6 Humidifier review.
How The Okaysou Aqua Q6 Humidifier Performs
Humidifying Power
Overall, I was very impressed with the humidifying power of the Aqua Q6.
After using it on high in a 400 square foot bedroom for one hour, the humidity level rose by 8%. Considering the unit is only rated for rooms up to 450 sq ft, I was fairly impressed by this.
The mist production is very fine, even on the highest setting. I have had no problem with water accumulating around the unit or with the floor in front of it getting damp. The Q6 is also impressively quiet, putting off just 31 dB on high.
The large, 6-liter water tank will allow it to run for 15 to 27 hours, depending on which mist level you choose. This makes for a lot of uninterrupted use, whether you plan to use this appliance continuously or only at night.
Functionality
The Aqua Q6 boasts a lot of functionality. These include:
- Timer function - set to 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours
- Three mist output settings - low, medium, and high
- Lights off mode - the unit will run as programmed without any indicator lights illuminated
- Remote control - control all features of the unit with the included remote
- Essential oil tray - special tray for adding essential oils that won't compromise mist output
However, as we've mentioned, there are some features that failed our expectations. One of which is the warm mist function.
When I switched to warming mode, the mist did get warm but not to the point that I was able to significantly feel any difference from the normal cold mist.
Another potentially useful feature that fell short was the auto-mode mist function. This feature is supposed to auto-regulate the mist output of the machine between off, low, medium, and high. Unfortunately, the internal hygrometer is inaccurate.
In my very dry Colorado household, the average humidity level is between 35% and 45%. The humidity meter inside the Q6 constantly read about 10% higher than this. Because of this, the auto mode would shut the unit off well before an actual humidity level of 55% was achieved.
Usability
Using the Okaysou Aqua Q6 is pretty straightforward - even if it is your first humidifier. Once you've put the water in and plugged the device, you just have to tap the touchscreen controls on the front or use the included remote control to set the preferred mode or temperature.
As a light sleeper who needs complete blackness to get a good night's sleep, I really appreciated the lights off feature. But do make sure that you fill the tank all the way to the top! If the tank runs dry, the unit will alert you with a beeping sound, whether it's in light-out mode or not.
And although I never had the chance to use the built-in aroma tray, I would expect many will fall in love with how convenient it is to use - you just pull the tray on the side and put essential oil of your choice.
This Okaysou humidifier has a top lid design that makes it extra convenient to add water in and clean the talk itself. However, you should know that the lid's design is not 100% perfect.
Condensation build-up during use is normal across different humidifier models. In the case of the Q6 that means you can't take the lid off without getting water everywhere. And you can't set it down because the mist direction adjuster-which sits on top of the lid rather than attaching to it-will fall off.
Although a minor inconvenience, the only way you can keep your nightstand free from drops of water is to let the lid drip in the tank for a few minutes.
The bottom of the tank also makes a mess for the same reasons. It gets wet from sitting in the reservoir and can't be flipped over to contain this moisture because there is no attachable lid to hold the water inside the tank. This design is similar to many top-fill humidifiers, but that doesn't make it any less difficult to deal with.
Energy Use
In terms of energy use, this humidifier won't cost you much to operate. If you left it running 24 hours per day for a month, you'd only see your energy bill go up by about $1.60 on average.
The energy draw is higher on warming mist mode, however. But you could easily offset this by using the auto-function - that is, if the hygrometer was accurate enough.
Okaysou Aqua Q6 Alternatives
Overall, the Okaysou Aqua Q6 is an effective, quiet, and energy-efficient humidifier, but it falls short in terms of functionality and usability.
If the usability of your humidifier is just as important to you as its humidifying power, you may want to consider the Orgtoy 4L Cool Mist Humidifier. Like the Q6, this is a powerful dehumidifier, but it features a much more user-friendly tank that is easy to clean and refill. Plus, the simple control panel allows for straightforward operation.
For those looking for greater functionality, the Levoit Large Room Humidifier is a good place to start. This 6-liter humidifier has similar marketed functionality to the Q6 but with better execution of features like warm mist and auto-mode.
Things to Consider Before Buying
Before you decide which humidifier is best for you, it is worth taking some time to consider what you want out of your new appliance. Here are some factors that may influence your decision.
- Tank Size - How long will the unit run before it needs to be refilled?
- Room Rating - Be sure to find a unit rated for the size of the room you will be using it in.
- Tank Type - Whether you go top-fill or inversion, it comes down to how much time you want to spend cleaning versus how easy you expect filling and using the tank to be.
- Functionality - What other functions and modes are important to you? Warm mist, night mode, timers, remotes, and auto mode are all common options that may or may not be included.
Conclusion
A humidifier is a great appliance to have on hand whether you plan to use it daily to combat a dry climate or only on the occasion to help overcome season illness.
For those in the market for an effective and quiet humidifier that is easy to clean and sleep-friendly, the Okaysou Aqua Q6 is a good choice. It can quickly raise the humidity levels in medium-sized rooms without making much noise or using much energy. Plus, it comes with a remote, timer function, and light-off mode for a user-friendly experience.
On the downside, the Aqua Q6 does not do a good job putting out warm mist, and the auto-mode isn't reliable due to a less-than-accurate hygrometer. The tank is also a little finicky and not as easy to fill and use as an inverted tank.
