Oh, the Irony...

From The Metro:
John Lydon has slammed Danny Boyle’s upcoming Sex Pistols biopic as ‘the most disrespectful s***’ he’s ever seen.

The acclaimed filmmaker is overseeing a new FX drama, simply named Pistol, which tells the story of the notorious punk band – but John isn’t impressed. Pistol will take viewers from the band’s early days in West London, to their rise to fame and connection with Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s infamous Kings Road SEX shop.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, John – who was known as Johnny Rotten during his time in the Sex Pistols – suggested that he could take legal action against the new series.

T'was ever thus.
Every few years, some manager would get his protegé(s) into the headlines by persuading them to behave 'outrageously' or 'disrespectfully'. Elvis, the Stones, the Sex Pistols. They all end up as part of the establishment, appearing in adverts for butter and TV reality shows.
And doing interviews with the Sunday Times (FFS) in which they threaten people with legal action over perceived slights.
