Earlier this year buzz came around that MAC would launch a limited edition collection inspired by Archie comics. I was such a huge fan of the said comics back in grade school, so naturally this collection made me so excited! I waited and waited until they finally unveiled their product lineup. And finally it became available here in the Philippines just this March!!! Good thing it fell on my birth month so I felt less guilty splurging and just thought of it as a gift for myself. HAHA! :-P
Included in the Archie’s Girls Collection are lipsticks, lipglosses, blushers, loose pigments, eyeshadow palettes, eyeliner and mascara. I only want to try their lipstick and actually have the shade Betty Bright in mind. Sadly, when I went to the MAC counter the only Betty lipstick left was Oh, Oh, Oh. All lipstick shades from Veronica were also sold out. It seriously broke my heart. The SA told me only around 30 pieces per shade per MAC counter. It was only the 2nd day of their launch when I visited Shang. That’s how “limited” this collection is.
I didn’t want to come home empty-handed, so I got Oh, Oh, Oh anyway. To make myself feel better I just look at the pretty white packaging. As you can see from the photo above it’s a sheer brown plum with a Lustre finish.
Upon swatching at the back of my hand, it revealed a reddish plum hue with pretty gold shimmer.
And on my lips it’s like this. Honestly, I didn’t like the shade at first. Also, this belongs to the Lustre category and I’m not really a big fan of those because it’s so opaque it doesn’t cover much my natural lip color. But since I don’t have any plum shades yet in my lipstick collection, this is still a welcome addition.
On my eyes: Loreal Lucent Highlighter Pen, Virginia Olsen eyeshadows in Chartreuse and Plum Lovin, Maybelline Gel Liner in Brown, and ELF Eye Brow Kit
Anyway, I’m curious… are you a Betty or a Veronica? :)
