October Song 9: "Impossible Weight" by Deep Sea Diver

By Ventipop @ventipop

After nearly ten years, Deep Sea Diver continues to impress with their brand of indie/pop music hybrid. And their latest single " Impossible Weight" does not disappoint. Of course, adding a splash of Sharon Van Etten never hurts. The song is about the weight one feels stacking their own problems against others they deem more worthy. Raw lyrics such as "A million times tongue tied \ Spit it out, never mind \ I think I'm addicted to the fear" speak to a lot of us right now.

Led by Californian songwriter Jessica Dobson, Deep Sea Diver has worked with big names like Beck, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Shins. Dobson and Van Etten's shared vocals on "Impossible Weight" soar together into a complimentary roar.
