Amanda Shires has collaborated with her husband and fellow musician Jason Isbell on her new single, " The Problem." The moving new song tackles the weighty topic of abortion. All proceeds from the track, which was released on International Safe Abortion Day (September 28), to Alabama reproductive justice organization the Yellowhammer Fund. The group aims to remove barriers for people trying to access abortions.
Shires said of the song on Instagram, "I'm proud of this song. It wasn't an easy one to write, but it was worth every tear and all the heartbreak along the way to finally arrive at this night, the start of our release day... I hope you can listen with an open heart. This song is about unconditionally supporting someone you love. This is a love song. Let's be there for each other."
