It seems that the failure of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was nothing but a futile wish of right-wing Republicans -- a wish that has turned into a brutal nightmare for them. The number of private insurance purchases, originally predicted to be 7,000,000 by the Congressional Budget Office, has easily cruised by that figure. It currently rests at 7,588,454 and it is still growing (adding nearly 400,000 since the end of March).
And that is just a portion of the millions of new people who now have insurance coverage thanks to Obamacare. That total is well above 22.7 million people.
The Republicans are still talking about repealing Obamacare, but that is just to keep their teabagger base happy. They have to know it would be political suicide to take health insurance away from over 22.7 million people.
