Even-strength scoring chances were even at 6 for and 6 against. Breaking them down by period, the teams were even after the first period with 2 scoring chances each. Montreal had the edge in the second with 2 ES scoring chances for and just 1 against. The third period saw Toronto have the advantage, as the Canadiens gave up 3 scoring chances, while producing 2 chances themselves.
POSSESSION SUCCESS-RATES
Montreal was less successful maintaining possession in the offensive-zone against Toronto than their average last season. That said, the White, Prust and Armstrong line were more successful creating a offensive-zone cycle than any other line.
