Nowhere Nearer by @ackmiller

Is nowhere a place we can get closer to? In her compelling second collection, Alice Miller tackles the circularity of thought, the company of the dead, and the lure of alternative futures. These poems rip into pockets of histories, trying to change facts and voices, searching for the word's version of music's home key. They dare you to visit, through a series of cities, the futures we never let happen.

This is a new poet for me. I enjoyed Nowhere Nearer. I liked the imagery used throughout the poems. The poems all had quite a dark undertone but were beautifully written. The meaning and subject matter of each poem is not clear from the outset and you need to revisit lines and whole stanzas to fully grasp what is being hinted at. There are various cities scattered across the poems such as Vienna and areas within the US. The poems are haunting at times.
