Now I Don’t Forget Anything, and I’m Not Kidding. Retested 8 Reminders for Android

Posted on the 19 September 2022 by Top10

Millions of people around the world forget something important every day - buy milk, pick up a child from kindergarten, pay bills or call a friend back on Friday night. Naturally, in order to make life easier for such forgetful people, there are hundreds of reminder apps on the web with various functions, varying degrees of attractiveness of the interface, and a set of paid features. So that you do not have to spend time searching and testing software in search of the best, I did it myself - it's time to study the top reminders and never miss important events again.

8th place. To Do List: Reminder Planner

A very pleasant application in terms of interface with convenient task entry, a beautiful built-in calendar and compact publications in categories. Moreover, the software even records the number of tasks that you have completed during the day, so that later you can display it as a graph on a separate tab. It's not practical, but it's still nice. And here you can also enter tasks using your voice, but, unfortunately, only when buying a paid subscription. However, even without it, the application provides a lot of opportunities for managing tasks at work, at home, and not only in perhaps the most beautiful software of all.

✅ Benefits:

❌ Disadvantages:

    certain features are available only in a paid subscription: all topics, advanced reminders, repetitions, unlimited attachments, Pro widgets, voice task recording and removal of ads (paid subscription costs 1800 rubles per year).

7th place. Any.Do

The case when the application can be both simple and multifaceted at the same time. If desired, the user can simply add tasks like "buy milk" or "meet a friend", which is done in just a couple of clicks and does not take much time. But if necessary, you can configure a lot of parameters - the reminder time (you can repeat the same task on a specific date), an additional subtask, an attachment (like a screenshot or a photo), and more. There are also flexible settings with many interface options, predefined task templates and a built-in calendar to make it easier to view the schedule.

✅ Benefits:

❌ Disadvantages:

    some features are only available in a paid subscription: recurring tasks, customized themes, WhatsApp reminders, color tags, location, and an unlimited scheduler (costs 2050 rubles per year).

6th place. TickTick

TickTick - Task Manager, Organizer & Calendar 6.3.1.1

The app offers several to-do lists upon entry (it's very convenient to separate the shopping list from household chores or work tasks), and when creating a task with a reminder, the user can add a degree of importance, a hashtag label for quick search, and a date and time. In the entry itself, you can add a description, a bulleted list with checkboxes and images - if you wish, you can take notes and write down things for the future with maximum detail. There is also a built-in calendar with marks, and in the settings you can easily export or import a to-do list from several third-party competing applications.

✅ Benefits:

❌ Disadvantages:

    some features are available only in a paid subscription: calendar design, task duration, filters, setting background sounds and themes, 99 attached files, unlimited habits (1600 rubles per year).

5th place. Todoist

The application with perhaps the most attractive interface provides a very convenient division of tasks and cases into categories - there is a separate tab with plans for today, there is a tab with upcoming tasks, plus many filters and tags for quickly finding the content you need. Naturally, you can separate reminders into folders to separate work and home, for example, plus in the settings you can find many options for the application interface. Among the shortcomings - the only software in the top, which, for the sake of the basic reminder function, requires you to purchase a paid subscription. Maybe it's worth it, but everyone else gives it for free.

✅ Benefits:

❌ Disadvantages:

    reminders are available only by subscription (2850 rubles per year).

4th place. Taskeet

A multifunctional application that allows you to set alarms, create and view notes, and, of course, create tasks and reminders for them. Of the interesting - you can add a contact to the task directly from the contact book, for example, to call the right person right from the application at the appointed time. Separately, I would like to praise the side menu, which has a lot of categories and they all make life easier with constant use of the software. There is even a built-in calendar with marks about anything, and for the purchase of a premium subscription, annoying ads will disappear from the menu.

✅ Benefits:

❌ Disadvantages:

    the free version has ads, but no cloud backup and synchronization between devices (paid subscription costs 1800 rubles per year).

3 place. Microsoft To Do

Microsoft has its own software that reminds you of important things, meetings and tasks, which looks quite attractive, has all the necessary functions and does not burden the user with a confusing interface. You can divide tasks into lists so as not to dump work and home tasks into one box, while a calendar is implemented so that you can visually quickly view all entries, and when adding a new entry, the system can offer quick tips and allow you to set a repetition. Simple, visually pleasing software that allows you to remember trips to the dentist and meetings with old friends.

✅ Benefits:

❌ Disadvantages:

    You can't use the app without a Microsoft account.

2 place. Google Tasks

The most simple application in which there really is nothing superfluous. In the "Tasks" you can add a task, set a reminder for the desired date and time, add additional comments, send tasks to favorites and separate work tasks from the shopping list using lists.

✅ Benefits:

1 place. Tasks.org

The only application from the top that allows you to enter tasks using your voice, although many parameters still have to be entered manually. The menu with items (priority, tags, subtasks, start or end date, and so on) can be customized - you can simply remove what you do not use, leaving only what you need. All the functionality in the program is absolutely free and there are no ads - you only have to pay for cloud synchronization if you need it.

✅ Benefits:

  • entering tasks using voice;
  • customizing the menu for creating a note;
  • advanced sorting;
  • backup to smartphone memory;
  • flexible interface settings

❌ Disadvantages:

    cloud synchronization is available only after purchasing a Pro-subscription (it costs 1600 rubles).
