As always, I highly suggest pinning or bookmarking the round-up so you can come back to it whenever you have a few spare moments. Disability News
- Little Jack’s dream for independence finally made a reality – Far too often, media outlets discuss disabilities in negative terms (confined to a wheelchair, wheelchair bound, etc.) This article celebrates a power wheelchair as a form of independence. It should serve as a model for journalists.
- The Best in Disability Advertising Awarded to Duracell at ANA Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference – Remember the Duracell commercial that aired during the last Super Bowl with Derrick Coleman, a deaf football player from the Seattle Seahawks? Well, that commercial won an award – rightly so, I think!
- How I Grew My Wheelchair Ramp Company Into a Franchise – A franchise for wheelchair ramps? So awesome!
- Self-righting wheelchair technology developed by students – This is also great. I love the idea of giving wheelchair athletes this extra level of independence.
