and website - https://sites.google.com/site/notlobmusic/ and joining our mailing list - http://groups.google.com/group/notlobmusic/DAROL ANGER AND EMY PHELPS WITH FAMILY AND FIENDSIn our last newsletter (July) we stated “Unless David Grisman or Sam Bush call asking for a gig, the next notloB parlour will be Saturday, October 5. The artists’ names will not be released until September.” Well, as Sam will be in the area during the months of September and October, we highly recommend see one of his performances. Not sure when Dave will be in the area. But we do have someone who has played with both as our October feature, the one and only Darol Anger will be returning, this time with Emy Phelps and family and “fiends.” This will be at a private residence just west of Cambridge, so advance donations are required; on receipt the address will be provided. Please send reservation requests by email to [email protected]
DOWN THE ROAD
After six years at the Loring-Greenough House notloB is moving to a new venue, the First Church in Jamaica Plain, which is literally across the street at We will be combining resources with the former “Eliot Street Soirée”, read the details here. The new series will start on November 1 with Fellswater, a veteran of both series, and will continue with The Bombadils from Quebec on November 22. Visit the bands’ websites; more information will be in the October newsletter. Tickets for both concerts will be available for purchase through Brown Paper Tickets. The Eliot Street Coffeehouse will soon have a web presence on First Church Jamaica Plain’s website - http://firstchurchjp.org/“Like” its Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/6EliotStreetThe community, especially those interested in volunteering, is invited to send inquiries by email to [email protected]
LORD GEOFFREY PRESENTSFor the fall, our brother series, Lord Geoffrey Presents will be offering an unplugged series in Cambridge featuring rising young talent from the Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory! The concerts will be presented at Outpost 186 in Inman Square, where there is plenty of space and on-street parking / close to the T, not in a bar where artists compete with loud conversations and blaring televisions, or in a cramped listening room packed four to a tiny table!September 25 - TBA
