Not Much

Not Much
The wind was whipping across the Ouse Valley, cold and purposeful; The clouds scudding across the sky, creating fast moving patches of sunlight; Trees bent and swayed to the will of the wind; Storm Ewan had followed Doris and was now sweeping across the UK.

Not Much

What this meant for my patch walk was that there really wasn't much about. Strong winds tend to keep smaller birds down, they hide away deep in the bushes and undergrowth, trying to stay out of the cold.
The walk to the Nature reserve was notable for only 2 Goosander swimming the a River Ouse and little else, the nature reserve was not much better, 3 Stonechat beside the Aqueduct Hide (later 4 by the Aqueduct itself, 3 male, 1 female) and then not a lot. It was so bad that the stilt pits had almost no birds on them!
That being the case this will just become a photo post (and yes it is mainly Stonechat, sorry).

Anyway I hope you liked the photos, maybe next time the birding will be better or the day will throw up something more interesting to write about than just some strong winds.
