OK so most people are not fans of rodents but this should show that even rats can have a real purpose in the scheme of things. Can you name all the animals that lend humans a hand on a daily basis? So we have helper dogs, monkeys, ferrets, parrots, snakes, miniature horses and pigs. I had to post that information from the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD).
So before you start thinking that snakes or ferrets don’t have a place, think about how much a service animal can help someone who really wants independence.
