2010 Oklahoma trip
pole, Vance AFB, T-38 Talon,@ Enid, OK

December 2010

A wintry day to find this retired Talon on base.  The host unit at Vance AFB is the 71st Flying Training Wing (71 FTW) where they have conducted pilot training for the Air Force and allied nations since 1972.  The world’s first supersonic trainer, the T-38 flew in 1959, and the US Air Force obtained over 1,000 of them from 1961 to 1972. As of 2018, over 500 T-38s were still operational with the USAF. The T-38 has been in service for over 50 years with its original operator (USAF).  Canon G9 photo.
