The world’s first supersonic trainer, the T-38 flew in 1959, and the US Air Force obtained over 1,000 of them from 1961 to 1972. As of 2012, the T-38 has been in service for over 50 years with its original operator (USAF). This T-38 Talon was built in 1959 at Northrop Field in Hawthorne, California and delivered to the Air Force in 1960. Handheld HDR photograph.
