A T-6G Texan of the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team takes off during the 2010 EAA Airventure airshow. This four-ship aerobatic team was formed in 1984, the first 12 years as a three-ship team.  First flown in 1935, over 15,000 of the venerable Texans were produced and they were still being built in Canada into the 1950’s.  2,068 early model AT-6s were re-built between 1949-1953 with improved cockpit layout, increased fuel capacity, steerable tailwheel, updated radios and a 600hp R-1340 engine.  Nikon D300 w/80-200mm.
