North American T-6 Texan

A Texan taxies for takeoff at the 2007 Aviation Nation airshow.  Pre-war livery often included a striping on the rudder to represent the colors of the U.S. flag, as seen here.  First flown in 1935, over 15,000 of the venerable Texans were produced and they were still being built in Canada into the 1950’s.
