John Collver flies this Texan, named “War Dog”, on the West Coast airshow circuit.  The vast majority of the 15,000+ Texans built were powered by the R-1340, Pratt & Whitney’s first aircraft engine, and the first of the famed Wasp series.  With close to 35,000 engines built, it received designation as a Historic Engineering Landmark from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.  Nikon D7000 w/70-200mm.
