This clipped-wing P-51, “Goldfinger”, certainly caught the eye of many with its gleaming finish. At the 2018 Reno Air Races, Mike Brown finished 6th in the Unlimited Gold Race at 353.9 mph with this aircraft. Delivered in 1944, this Mustang finished U.S. military service with the Texas ANG before being transferred to the Nicaraguan Fuerza Aerea Sandinista/Defensa Anti-Aerea in 1958. Back in the U.S. in 1963, she moved among many owners and began a lengthy Reno racing career in 1988. Nikon D7100 w/18-200mm.
