This year’s Los Angeles County Airshow warbird lineup included this Mustang in attendance courtesy of the Planes of Fame, seen here in the morning desert light.  The registration of this aircraft was transferred from a P-51 that Steve Hinton crashed during the 1979 Reno Air Races.  More than 8100 of the D-model were produced, contributing to the total of 15,000 Mustangs built for the war.   Nikon D7100 w/18-200mm, processing with Aurora HDR and Aperture.
