This was taken during the ISAP XII field trip to the Historic Flight Foundation. Part of the Foundation collection since 2008, this “Impatient Virgin” was delivered in early 1944 to the 376th Fighter Squadron based in Bottisham, England and flew more than 700 hours before a post-war crash left it scattered across a field for 57 years.  1988 of the B-models were built at the North American plant in Dallas, TX.
