This weathered Sabre is part of the fine collection at the Pacific Coast Air Museum. First flown in 1953, the H model was a fighter-bomber version with 473 built, incorporating the Low Altitude Bombing System (LABS) and provision for a nuclear weapon. The new design included a larger engine with a corresponding larger intake, slightly larger fuselage, increased internal fuel capacity and four underwing stations for bombs or drop tanks. Visibly larger than earlier models, the H model was faster and could carry up to 2,000 lb of bombs, including an external fuel-type tank that could carry napalm. Never having seen combat, the last active duty F-86H was retired in Jan 1972. Fuji X-E2s w/18-135mm.
