Having visited the USAFA campus several times before, I never knew about this F-100 until this trip.  Like many of the Century Series of fighters, the Super Sabre was a very cool looking plane and I was very pleased to photograph one.  The F-100 was the first Air Force fighter to exceed the speed of sound in level flight.  This Foxtrot model was used for supersonic flight training and this particular aircraft recreated Lindbergh’s famous transatlantic flight but only needed six hours and 37 minutes to complete the route.  HDR with a Nikon D300 using Photomatix software.
