A T-6 Texan in Luftwaffe markings performs a flyby at the 2019 Grass Valley Airshow. An export version of the Texan (NA-64 P-2) was built for the French Armée de l’Air and Aéronavale with 111 delivered before France surrendered to the Germans, resulting in a large number of these Texans actually used to train Luftwaffe pilots in WWII. 400 of these Bravo variants were produced for the US Army Air Corps. First flown in 1935, over 15,000 of the venerable Texans were produced and they were still being built in Canada into the 1950’s.
