Nokia, which was one of the first companies to make a mobile phone system for consumers, thinks that the metaverse will kill off phones. Virtual reality (VR) headsets and augmented reality (AR) glasses will power these metaverse experiences, and users will be able to do a wide range of things. Also, there will be a lot of industrial use.

Nokia, which was one of the first companies to set up a mobile phone system, thinks that the metaverse will kill the current mobile phone trend. Even though cell phones will still be around, the main way people will talk in the second half of the decade will be through metaverse experiences.
Nokia thinks that even though augmented reality devices still have a long way to go, this metaverse push will be helped by more people being interested in them. Nishant Batra, who is in charge of strategy and technology at Nokia, is sure of himself. He remarked:
” Our belief is that this device will be overtaken by a metaverse experience in the second half of the decade.”
Batra says, however, that for this metaverse-based future to come true, a number of conditions must be met.
The Digital Future of Nokia
Nokia thinks that the growth of this digital universe in the consumer market will depend on a number of important factors, such as how hard companies like Meta work to make the metaverse popular. Also, the executive has already said that consumers care more about price and shapes than they do about institutions. He elucidated:
For the technology to really take off, it will need to be widely accepted by businesses and people, and cheap, comfortable, wirelessly connected VR and AR gadgets will need to be made.
Meta raised the price of its standard Headset to $400 in July, which made popular metaverse headsets more expensive. This month, the company released the $1,500 Quest Pro VR as a premium option.
But making money from the metaverse will be hard because the company thinks it will break up, and making money from the metaverse will depend on the growth of new ways to use metaverse experiences and devices. Several use cases are already being looked into, which will make it easier for businesses to use the technology.
Nokia thinks that all of this connectivity will create security holes, and the company is also working to keep users safe in the metaverse.
