No Windows – the Sound of Young Scotland award-winning Edinburgh duo of Morgan Morris and Verity Slangen – have shared ‘Song 01’ ahead of the release of new EP ‘Point Nemo’ (Fat Possum Records) on 3 May.
A meditation on loss inspired by Daniel Keyes’ novel ‘Flowers for Algernon’, the swaying and woozy song fits neatly between Beach House and Admiral Fallow as the band put their fears at the forefront – ‘too scared to talk’ – while the final crescendo of post rock noise and fuzz captures this feeling anxiety with aplomb.
