No Seiyuu No Life: Miyuki Sawashiro

Posted on the 19 November 2014 by Kaminomi @OrganizationASG

I wonder how everyone has been lately. Anything interesting happened with your life? I might have decided what to do with my life now that I am out of work. I am not sure how everything will turn out but be sure that you will be informed. Probably.

Anyway, less about me and more about today’s chosen seiyuu. Today’s chosen seiyuu is … Miyuki Sawashiro!

No Seiyuu no Life: Miyuki Sawashiro

Known for: Celty (Durarara!!), Fujiko Mine (Lupin III), Suruga Kanbaru (Monogatari Series)

My favorite role: Maria (Arakawa Under the Bridge)

The thing I am most sad about when it comes to Miyuki Sawashiro is that she has not more roles this season. She is in Sword Art Online (and she’s wonderful in SAO), she’s also in Parasyte, in Psycho Pass II and in Shingeki no Bahamut. Well, ok, maybe that’s a lot of roles.

I think I have always loved Miyuki Sawashiro, ever since I first heard it I could always remember her. She’s one of the few girl seiyuu that I recognize instantly and remember her name without any problem.

In short, she’s damn good.

She can do everything!

She can do normal girls like she did in Utapri. I think she is the only seiyuu who ever managed to make me like the heroine from the adaptation of an otome game.

She can do strong girls, like she did as Bishamon in Noragami. She has the ability to take an already great character and make her even better. I definitely would have liked Bishamon without Miyuki Sawashiro but I liked her a lot more with her voice.

My favorite character of hers, Maria from Arakawa Under the Bridge, is the same type of character. I think it’s this type of character that she can do the best.

And lastly, she can also do boys. You probably don’t remember Lag Seeing in Letter Bee (which I recommend) but she was perfect as him. You almost didn’t recognize she was a girl.

Now I think about it, she can also do weird characters. You remember Beelzebub? Well, she was Baby Beel in Beelzebub. I am pretty sure I would have stopped watching the anime on the spot if is was another seiyuu voicing that annoying little thing.

Miyuki Sawashiro also can sing very well, which always makes a seiyuu earn some points in my books.

Either way, what do YOU think about Miyuki Sawashiro?

As for last week, I am really glad you chose Nobunaga Shimazaki as well! Isn’t he great? Didn’t he deserve his spot?

I’m really curious about your chosen seiyuu of the week so please comment!
