Castile’s shooting sparked outrage after it was broadcast on Facebook Live by his girlfriend Diamond Reynolds.
Castile’s mother gave a brief statement to reporters after the verdict was read and expressed her outrage over Yanez’ acquittal.
“My son loved this city, and this city killed my son,” said Valerie Castile according to TheNYTimes . ” And a murderer gets away. Are you kidding me right now? The system in this country continues to fail black people and will continue to fail us,” she added.
