Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opened with a healthy 4.6M in late night grosses last night, pretty good for a “family” picture. Early matinee grosses are hinting that the Turtles are overperforming beyond the 40M projected weekend take, and could go as high as 50-55M for the weekend. This number would send it over Guardians Of The Galaxy, which is tracking in the low 40’s for the weekend.
Into The Storm didn’t drum up much business last night, and only managed 800K in late night grosses. It is currently on track for a 15-18M weekend, from matinee estimates. The Hundred Foot Journey is a bit of a disappointment, and won’t break 10M for the weekend, coming in around 8-9.5M , and Step Up All In is looking to do 7-8.5M for the weekend.
