Russian techno DJ slash producer Nina Kraviz made her name in the business for her unique synthesis of house and techno with an acidic undercurrent.
What does she sound like? Well her signature sound was shaped by listening to jazz and psychedelic rock as a kid which led onto working for a Russian music magazine. Her love affair for niche music started there as she started hosting some of the most important music nights in town with enigmatic, emotion packed mixes that listeners could really relate to. Like expressing her thoughts half way through a track – “Have you ever been to Reykjavik?”
It’s pretty cool. As fans of her here at neon we’re pleased to see she’s mixing the latest of our favorite mix series ‘DJ Kicks’ which is set to be particularly eclectic featuring tracks from her own label трип and the likes of Goldie, Fred B and Armando. It’s set to be released on 26th January 2015.
