The startup truck maker Nikola had his fans seriously under the spell last March when he announced that he would be working with the Badger. Always appearing in computer-designed form, the truck was supposed to have 906 horsepower, 980 pound-feet of torque and a range of 600 miles. Now? It's dead before we see the original.
On Monday, after lengthy new discussions, Nikola announced a new Memorandum of Understanding with General Motors proposed partnership following Fraud allegations against the startup company. The MOU does not include GM's prior commitment to validate, homologate and manufacture the badger. Nikola should also get access to GM's engineers to bring the pickup to life. It's a big blow to the new automaker that has been betting on a lot of hype for its upcoming vehicles. Instead, we seem to be staring at reality.

Regarding the quick death of the truck, Nikola said in a statement: "As previously announced, the Nikola Badger program was dependent on an OEM partnership."
