Night Bitch- Amy Adams is The Most Relatable Mother Of 2024
Quick Take: I’m really just catching up in order, and now that this is on Hulu, I was ready to skip my first thoughts, and wait till I get to my inevitable second look with audio description. However, Disney had other plans. They dropped Night Bitch on Hulu without giving a consideration to making sure the necessary audio description was also day and date. It is funny how many times this has happened, and Disney never really apologizes, or improves. And, yes, Hulu, Fox Searchlight, they are Disney brands. When I screened this, it was on Disney Debut, the platform for critics.
And, they could fix that platform too. I screened titles from other studios with audio description, but not Disney. SAG has a requirement for audio description for their screeners, so they have to have a platform set up for them anyway. But, I sat through this, and it is unwatchable without audio description. Marielle Heller has written perfectly for Amy Adams, who seems great here, but the movie has this supernatural element that doesn’t work without accessibility.
