Niecy Nash gushed to Essence that she has “that real love” with husband Jay Tucker, who she has been married to since 2011. “You know me and my husband, honey, that’s a whole ‘nother story,” when comparing her personal life to her Claws character Desna. “That real love — I can’t tell you my secrets!”
The Emmy nominated actress said that Tucker committed not only to her, but also her entire family when they decided to get married.
“The one thing I will say … is that he said from the beginning, ‘I’m marrying all of you, so my mother, my children — and he’s been committed to us from the day he walked through that door,” she recalls.
And in that way, Nash sees her relationship as a way to set an example that will impact her kids’ lives because “it’s very important to show my children what real love looks like.”
