On its first two-day run, the NFT vending machine sold 390 NFTs. This raised £3,900 for the charities Giveth, which funds public goods and services and education in developing countries, and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which gives specialist nurses to seriously ill children.

The vending machine was well received, and celebrities and influential people like Ant Middleton and @andythenguyen also liked it.

Customers who wanted to purchase an NFT from myNFT’s vending machine just had to pick one of the envelopes on display and type in the code that was shown. They got a card with a QR code after paying £10 with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or another contactless payment method.

After setting this up and getting an NFT wallet, they got their NFT, which could be worth up to £1,000. In myNFT’s first NFT collection, there were many famous NFTs from brands like Dr. Who Worlds Apart, Thunderbirds, Delft Blue Night Watch, and many more.

Getting rid of obstacles

One of the main goals of myNFT was to make it easier for people to get into the NFT space. It wants to make it easy for anyone who wants to buy and sell digital assets to do so. The vending machine was a symbol of how easy it is to use myNFT’s platform, which makes getting NFTs fun and interesting.

“There is so much potential in the NFT market and it’s such a shame to see some of that go to waste when possible new entrants are put off getting involved by various unnecessary and complicated barriers. From gas fees, gatekeeping knowledge, to having to set up a complicated digital wallet and more, great opportunities are being denied and squandered to newcomers,” Hugo McDonaugh, co-founder of myNFT, said in a statement.

“We’re determined to turn NFTs into an everyday activity for everyone, and break it out of its current clique”, McDonaugh added. “The best way for the sector to grow is through popular involvement, and we’re only going to achieve that by breaking down barriers. Our unique vending machine, the only one in Europe, is a fun and quirky way to demonstrate that.”

myNFT is now trying to find a more permanent place for its vending machine. “We have also been asked by several events if they can have the vending machine for their events around the world,” McDonaugh added.

Future hopes

myNFT is presently in beta release. Customers can currently use the platform to purchase and sell any non-fungible token on the Ethereum, Moonbeam, Moonriver, Polygon, and Binance Smart Chain Networks. They can also sell their NFTs via the new GBM auction system. There are also a great number of additional features under development for myNFT. These include NFT minting tools of the next generation, multi-currency NFT listings, token-gated experiences, and the integration of other blockchain networks into the platform.
