Posted on the 02 April 2022 by Nftnewspro

On 30th of March, the “Memorial Art of Gymnastics Legend: Kohei Uchimura” NFT was sold for $12.5 ETH, about $42,000 at the time of writing. This NFT immortalizes the retirement of this gymnast. For several years in a row, he has gained many great performances in the world of gymnastics. Visual artist Dai Tamura depicts the moment when his landing hero clings to him, focusing on all of his daily work.

The project of Kohei Uchimura

Before anything, let’s say how great this picture looks. Dai Tamura, an NBA licensed illustrator, definitely ‘nailed the landing’ on this one. This 1-of-1 NFT illustrates a series of moves from the 2014 World Gymnastics Championships, where King Kohei won his fifth consecutive title. And the most symbolic move, the one he completed to the millimeter, the landing.

The above artwork is merely the initial work of the Kohei Project called Project 001. Project 002 went on sale a few days ago, and is so special. It includes honorary membership cards with LIVE symbol. Each NFT video shows his presentation, message, and autograph in a digital photo frame. Also, we expect Project 003 to bring the same uniqueness.

Part of the proceeds will go to “Never Stop Sports”. It is a public association in which top athletes go beyond their sports activities, to back the development of student athletes. Financial problems, particularly the midst of the epidemic, have led to more and more student-athletes leaving for a more practical profession. This association helps them to continue to look for their gifts and at the same time to support themselves.

King of Japanese Gymnastics

Kohei Uchimura has won three Olympic gymnastics gold medals from Japan. He is 33 years old, and lately revealed that he has retired from the sport. To this day, many in the world of gymnastics considers him the king of gymnastics. From 2009 to 2016, no other competitor had an opportunity to claim his international title.
