NFL penalizes Detroit Lions defensive back Brian Branch for two rule infractions during Week 3 of the season
Lions defensive back Brian Branch was fined $20,256 for illegal actions during the victory over the Cardinals, including a hit that resulted in him being put into concussion protocol. He will still play in the next game. Branch was also fined $10,128 for two instances of unnecessary roughness on Trey McBride and Tip Reiman. Additionally, two other Lions players, Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Kerby Joseph, were fined for unnecessary roughness against Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr. respectively. McBride will not play in the next game due to his concussion.
